John Weber, a seasoned legal professional, graduated from Wake Forest University in 1992 with a dual degree in political science and philosophy. This academic background, coupled with his passion for writing and people, prepared him for the rigors of law school. He graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1992 and took the bar in July. John's legal career began at a small firm in the Danville, Virginia, community, where he advocated passionately for individuals. His courtroom experience soon led him to Gentry Locke Rakes and Moore in Roanoke, a large firm, where he focused his practice on litigation, including insurance defense, personal injury, workers' compensation, and products liability. John continued his practice with Kalbaugh, Pfund and Messersmith from 1997 until 2003, trying over 100 jury trials throughout southwest and southside Virginia. In 2003, John started his own firm, WeberPearson, PC, with his friend and partner, Stuart Pearson. They practiced together for over a decade, representing individuals in criminal, family, and traffic cases. John continued his litigation practice and served as a substitute judge and as a Juvenile and Domestic Court judge. John continues to advocate for individual clients at every level of court in criminal matters, family law cases, divorce, and traffic/driving matters.

Matthew B. Gayle (“Matt”) is a native of nearby Mathews County. Upon graduating from Mathews High School in 2011, Matt went on to complete his undergraduate studies at Longwood University, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Law Political Science. From there, he moved to Charleston, SC to attend Charleston School of Law, earing his law degree in the spring of 2018.

Upon moving back to Virginia, Matt began his practice with a corporate creditors’ rights firm, Scott & Associates, P.C., in Virginia Beach, VA. After about two years, he joined the Hampton Roads-based real estate law firm Caplan Law Group, where his practice primarily focused on various facets of real estate law, estate planning, and civil and criminal defense litigation.

Seeking to relocate to the Northern Neck to be closer to his hometown and family, Matt joined Hubbard, Terry & Britt, P.C. in the fall of 2024. During his time here, Matt has expanded his practice to include corporate and business law, certification as court-appointed counsel, estate administration and planning, civil litigation, including contract and/or equitable disputes, criminal defense, whether criminal or traffic offenses, local government, and various other areas of law.

In his personal time, Matt enjoys being outdoors, especially on the water. He is an active member of both the Board and Executive Committee of the Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department and serves as the Town Attorney for the Town of White Stone. Matt has expressed his love for this community, the bonds he’s formed here, and the contributions he’s proud to have made and continues to make, with the area being somewhere he considers to be a long-term place for him.

Beth Childs, works directly with William B. Hubbard, but she supports all counsel in the firm in Civil & Criminal Litigation and Domestic Relations matters.

Beth has more than 40 years’ legal experience in the Northern Neck.

She enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she loves boating and traveling as often as possible to any beach location.

Carlee Broadus is a Virginia-based legal professional and artist with a passion for creativity, community, and the Chesapeake Bay. By day, she is known for her attention to detail, professionalism, and dedication to helping clients through thoughtful communication and organization. Outside the office, Carlee channels her creativity into acrylic painting, creating original works inspired by coastal life, nautical themes, and the natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay.

Whether she’s designing artwork, reading a good book, or spending time with family and friends, Carlee values authenticity, hard work, and finding beauty in everyday moments. Her goal is to create meaningful art that connects with others while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
